One of the most important things to do before purchasing a german shepherd , (or any dog for that matter) is to research the breed and see if it will fit into your lifestyle. One of the worst case scenarios we can image is when a dog lands up in a shelter because the owners we not responsible enough to find out about their needs. We ask this of all our clients. The next question we suggest that you ask yourself is "Am I looking for a breeder that will maintain the standard, quality and temperament of the shepherds they breed by NOT overbreeding?" Does the breeder keep the adult Sires and Dams comfortable, exercised, socialized and healthy? What is their approach to breeding? These questions and their answers will tell you a lot about how the puppy/adult will be.

You also have to ask yourself "How can some of these breeders sell their puppies for $400.00 to $600.00 and claim to be top-notch?" Our advice to you is to be careful! If it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true. If these puppies are so inexpensive it is because they are bred for quantity and not quality leaving the puppies to suffer health issues later on in life and leaving the Dam in poor condition usually to be given away after their usefulness is no longer needed. Nine times out of ten, these owners end up paying vet bills that far surpass the purchase price of a healthy, loved well breed puppy.
